Those of you who followed my Write 31 day series last year might recall the idea I shared from Emily Freeman about recording the small moments from your life every now and then. She called it, “these are the days of,” and it was a simple way to just slow down and notice the small right in front of you. If you haven’t tried this strategy, I encourage you to, mamas, especially on those hard days where it feels like nothing is going right. It’s a way to recognize how the small things in life really are the best.
As part of this monthly series on mothering, I’ll be posting my own “these are the days of” on Sundays, as it gives me a break in writing as well as a way to share snippets of my life with you. When you do this at home, you don’t need pictures to accompany your list. Just a simple jotting down will do.
And to change it up a little bit, I’m asking that at the end, you’d consider sharing a prayer request with me. I’ll pray for you throughout the week. And if other mamas see the requests, please join me in praying for our fellow mama friends.
As always, pictures are taken with my iPhone. Real life small living at its finest.
These are the days of…
Reading in strange places
and normal places.
and nighttime soccer games.
Mixed jars of jelly and peanut butter
and smiley faced lunches.
Missing front teeth
and newly pierced ears.
Learning about faucets
and learning about birds.
and humoring mom for the camera.
These are the days, mama. Here today and gone tomorrow. Live small. Live in each moment.
How can I pray for you, mama? Leave a comment below and I’ll pray for you this week.
